China Started Freight Train Service To London 12000 Kms Long

In order to strengthen the trade ties with Europe, China started a freight train service to London. On January 1, the train departed from Yiwu, a famous wholesale market town in the eastern province of Zhejiang.

The train will cover more than 12,000 kilometers in about 18 days to reach London. It will travel via Kazhakhstan, Russia, Belarus, Poland, Germany, Belgium and France. It has the advantage of being cheaper than airways and waterways.

The train carries 200 containers including garments, bags, suitcases and other commercial goods. London is the 15th city in Europe to be added to freight train services from China. China President Jinping wants to implement commercial links with markets in Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Europe. Moreover, China-Madrid freight train completed its one year of service and ranks as the world’s longest rail service. This train carries olive oil back to China.
